What is Giclee?

Giclee (zhee-klay) - The French word "giclée" is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid. The word may have been derived from the French verb "gicler" meaning "to squirt". Giclee prints are fine art reproduction which is digitally captured or created, then printed with a sophisticated professional 6 or 8 color archival inkjet machine. All prints are printed on heavy 100% cotton, acid-free velvet texture paper. Handle the print much like a fine watercolor painting and should be framed under glass with conservation mounts and mats to keep printouts away from excess humidity air and direct sunlight.
